- Travelers meet the guide in Venice, Italy or Trieste, Croatia depending on their itinerary prior.
- Travel to Skocjan Caves, a Unesco World Heritage site, for an underground exploration of one of the largest caverns on the planet.
- Then we will take a walk back in time to explore the ancient hilltop village of Groznjan, which dates from the earlier 1100s.
Day 2:
- Arrive mid-day to visit the island city of Rovinj.
- We will stay and play in the old town area where no motorized vehicles are allowed. This gorgeous location along the Adriatic Sea will enchant you.
- Opportunities to hike, bike, kayak, shop, and learn about the unique history of the town.
Day 3:
- Today we will enjoy a waterfall hike as we explore the coastline on our way to Opatija.
- Once we arrive in Opatija, you can relax with a leisurely stroll along the Lungomare Coastal Promenade.
- Enjoy a boat ride at sunset to an island restaurant if you so choose!
Day 4:
- We will spend several hours exploring Plitvice National Park, the oldest and largest National Park in Croatia. If you enjoy waterfalls, you will never want to leave this magical place.
Day 5:
- We travel to Slovenia’s capital city, Ljubljana.
- We will visit a medieval castle along the way and have time for a tour of the city in the afternoon.
- There are many different ways to explore this city – walking through the old town, enjoying a guided tour, or a boat tour along the Ljubljanica River.
Day 6:
- We’ll head into the Julian Alps today where we will visit the Slovenia Alpine Museum and hike/explore Triglav National Park with unforgettable views of Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia.
- We’ll take a scenic drive to hike in Vintgar Gorge with stops at the Gogala Lipa Native Linden Tree, Psnakova: The Psnak Sawmill and Mill, and Radovna Memorial along with panoramic view points on our way to Bled.
Day 7:
- Explore the small lakeside town of Bled.
- Paddle on Lake Bled to Bled Island–maybe even a night paddle in a clear kayak. Or rent bikes to pedal around the lake; a tour of the 11th century Bled castle. You will be enthralled by this mountain town.
Day 8:
- The mountains, lakes, and waterfalls of Slovenia continue as we visit the Bohinj region.
- Hiking around the lake
- Canoeing
- Tram to the top of the mountain’s ski resort
Day 9:
- A scenic journey to Tolmin Gorge for hiking.
- A visit to a WWI museum in Kobarid where Hemingway was stationed and documented the experience in his novel A Farewell to Arms.
- We will land for the night at an award winning winery. Our fabulous hosts will impress you with their family run winery operation, great vino, and meals made with love!

- Departure day
